Safari done with myself as your guide, in The Beast. Spending the day leisurely looking for the more exciting and well-known wildlife, but we will also have a look at smaller, other interesting aspects like plants, tracks and any other things that may cross our path.

Journey up one of the largest Estuarine systems in Africa. Home to the largest population of Hippos in South Africa, an abundance of Nile Crocodiles and Bird Life. The trip lasts around 2 hours.

Go in-search of Loggerhead and Leatherback Turtles along the iSimangaliso Wetland Park Beach. Please Note these outings are seasonal and only take place from November to the end of February. Duration 6-8 hours R1200.00 per person

Whale Watching from St Lucia offers you an opportunity to witness Humpback Whales, Flying Fish, Whale Sharks, and Dolphins. The magnificent landscape of iSimangaliso Wetland Park by boat is spectacular. The duration of the Whale Watching from St Lucia is approximately 2 hours long out at sea. Please note that the entire duration may be longer as this includes a transfer from town to the beach and back. Clients are requested to meet at the office where they will be asked to sign a indemnity form, you will then be transferred to the beach from where you will meet the Whale Watching Crew and Skipper. This is a beach launch and not from a harbour. Beach launching through the surf zone for the first time may only be described as adventurous, exciting and adrenalin filled. R1400 per person

The drive is a shorter 1,5 hour drive focusing on white rhino and excluding the Lion Area. The highlight of this drive is the potential opportunity of alighting the vehicle and quietly approaching the rhino on foot. Not all rhinos are approachable and guides have discretion.

This is a guided tour provided by the park. Up to eight guests are taken to interesting places in the surrounding wilderness areas adjacent to most of the camps. The walk itself is relaxed and experienced and armed guides use their knowledge of the bush to explain natural wonders. Trained field guides with backup rifles take groups of up to 8 people out into the bush for a few hours. They track rhino, elephant and lion on foot and learn and observe fascinating facts about the African bush.

This safari is provided by the park and is done in an open safari vehicle, they leave when it is dark and return in the dark, searching for wildlife by spot, like aardvark, genets, owls and other animals that are nocturnal and may be more elusive during the day. This can add a different experience to your tour, going on a trip with someone with insider knowledge of the area.

The Echo Caves are some of the oldest caves in the world and were declared a Historical Monument. The caves are so-called because the local people used one of the stalactites as a drum to warn of any approaching Swazi. As these caves extend for some 40 km, the sound traveled for surprisingly long distances and the people could take refuge in the caves.

The Lisbon Falls are situated in the heart of the waterfall area of Mpumalanga, where the number of these dramatic falls exceeds that of anywhere else in southern Africa. Lisbon Falls is 94 meters, high which makes it one of the highest in the province.

Gods Window is so called for the panoramic view of the Lowveld more than 900 m down into lush indigenous forest clad ravine. The majestic cliffs plunge over 700 meters to the Lowveld and the private game reserves which have made the area one of South Africa's main wildlife destinations. God's Window is a small part of a 250km long earthwork of sheer cliffs and extravagant beauty. One can observe the hills and forests as far as the eye can see. In fact, it seems as if one can see forever!

The Pinnacle Rock is a massive quartzite rock that erupts from the earth’s surface and reaches some 30 metres in height. It is a freestanding rock that towers over the dense indigenous forest of Driekop Gorge in a dramatic display of nature’s quirks and the unique splendour of South Africa. It is littered with stunning, brightly-coloured aloes that not only add to the appeal amongst the local birds and insect species, but also make for extra beautiful photographs of the rock and its surrounds.

They are often many, ranging from early morning to late at night, and throughout the day. R300 – R700 per person

These falls tumble down in a single drop for some 80 metres, before crashing dramatically into a round basin that is an irresistible jade colour. Seeing the green waters set off by the red cliffs around them is something quite unforgettable and is best enjoyed from the observation platform above. The water comes from the Sabine River, which is popular for the bass fishing opportunities it presents.

First is the Robber's Grave, perched above the town, where a thief – banished and convicted for stealing a tent - was shot as he returned to Pilgrim's Rest. But he isn't the robber for whom the pass is named, despite the grave's fame. That's a different story, involving at least two highway robberies. The first when a stage coach was robbed of R1000 000 worth of gold (no-one was convicted or even caught); the second happened in the same spot, 13 years later. For this robbery Tommy Dennison was jailed, only to return to Pilgrim's Rest post sentence to start the Highwayman's Garage.

They're the result of decades of swirling eddies of water where the Treur River meets the Blyde River, the tumult of which has caused extensive water erosion over time. The result is a series of cylindrical rock sculptures that look as though they would be more comfortable on the moon.

The Big Swing is one of the world’s highest cable gorge swings and launches off the top of a waterfall. The experience is very different to a bungee-jump because participants freefall for 70m before the jump rope pulls them into a high-speed arch and they swing from one side of the gorge to the other. When falling, they reach 140km/h in three seconds.

Exactly as they sound, the Three Rondavels are three round mountain tops with slightly pointed tops, very similar to the traditional round or oval African homesteads made with local materials called rondavels. Once known as the chief and his three wives – the flat-topped peak represented Mapjaneng, famous for opposing invading Swazis in a memorable battle is on the right, whilst the rondavels are three of his more troublesome wives – Magabolle, Mogoladikwe and Maseroto.

The history of this quaint and delightful village dates back to 1873 when a miner, Alex Patterson, discovered alluvial gold on the farm named Ponieskrantz. Though the discovery was kept as a secret, once a second prospector named William Trafford also discovered gold close by, the inevitable happened. Soon after, optimistic panners and prospectors from all over the country and the World came to the area.
