Iceland – Once in a lifetime trip (16.05 – 26.05.2019, day 8…

Picking up from yesterday I was booked and ready to do the next boat trip hoping to see some orca’s and sperm whales that can be found in this area. I had some time before the trip, so I got up ready to do some sites before the big trip. Snaefellsjokull national park, Iceland I found as a very clean and pristine country full of nature and life wherever I was, so it didn’t surprise me nearing the end of my trip that I couldn’t tell the difference between the national park and non-national park side. Iceland – Once in a lifetime trip (16.05 – 26.05.2019, day 7…

Hungry to see more whales I did some more research, finding out Olafsvik offers great orca and sperm whale sightings, I couldn’t resist. Very far out in the distance I could just see a few whales, which is nothing like Hermanus but still wonderful to enjoy. Arctic sea tours, I was surprised to find out there were only 3 of us on the trip and…

Iceland – Once in a lifetime trip (16.05 – 26.05.2019), day 5…

Making my journey towards the north of Iceland to enjoy some much anticipated whale watching trips, that I’d soon discover to be addictive, with a few pit stops along the way.  Krafla volcano, when you arrive and see beautiful blue waters inside the volcano it seems hard to imagine that not too long ago it was still erupting with the area around it still warm and the geothermal area still bubbling away. I was very entertained by a shower and basin that was permanently running on the side of the road, wondering if anyone has had a proper shower there,…
